Midnight’s Thirst/ The Spark of Dawn
During their appointment as High Protector of The Order of Devine Light, Eddard Zahn, became withdrawn from the daily activities of the order. Services, if attended at all, held no interest for them. They refrained from meditation on the Cliffs of Dawn. Even those closest to them were treated as if strangers. It is said that during a mission into The Dark Planes of Heviah, his divine mace “The Spark of Dawn”, became corrupted from the blood of a demon. Slowly, High Protector Eddard was driven mad from a curse caused by this corruption. Eventually, Eddard Zahn abandoned his post as high protector and drifted out into the world, mace in hand.

Their own party included. If the throw succeeds, the wielder proceeds with their own motivations. With a failed saving throw, the GM will roll a dice to determine who the next target will be. With each full moon, if the weapon is still being wielded or carried by the PC , their alignment will shift one position towards evil. I.E.- Good- Neutral, Neutral-Evil. Once the PC reaches an evil alignment, the corruption continues. I.E.- Lawful-Neutral, Neutral-Chaotic.
To remove the curse, the wielder must be removed from the presence of the mace and cleansed by a priest of the Order of Devine Light. With out the cleansing, the PC’s Alignment cannot be restored and they will feel compelled to seek out the mace.
